What you’ll be doing…

As a senior member of the Project & Portfolio Management Office (PPMO), you will help mature the College’s portfolio planning and project delivery capabilities by applying industry best practices in IT Portfolio Management, Project Management, Business Analysis, Enterprise Architecture, Organizational Change Management and IT Service Management (ITSM). Supporting the College’s technology governance processes, you will play a key role in business case development and evaluation, and will lead subsequent implementation of projects within the PPMO’s approved delivery work plan. You will project manage all aspects of approved technology and technology enabled business projects, which typically vary in size and complexity. This includes working closely with business clients, as well as both internal and external delivery partners, to plan and deliver projects that ultimately yield key business outcomes and benefits.

Minimum qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce or Public Administration, or other relevant field (such as Computer Science, Information Systems or Industrial Engineering)

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or PM training through PMI endorsed methodologies is required

  • Business Analysis training or certification is an asset

  • Organizational Change Management training or certification is an asset

  • ITIL certification is an asset

Minimum experience:

  • 7+ years as Project Manager and Business Analyst with proven success on small, medium and large initiatives in a matrixed organization

  • Working in post-secondary industry or other Public Sector is an asset

  • Experience supporting IT Portfolio Management/Portfolio Planning is an asset

Minimum skills and ability:

  • An innovative mindset is a core essential skill

  • Must be goal oriented, results driven and client focused

  • Well versed in all Project Management and Business Analysis functions

  • Due to the cross functional nature of initiatives, the incumbent must possess skills that allow for successful working relationships to develop and nurture

  • Ability to successfully engage in and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously

  • A self-directed learner who keeps abreast of industry best practices and trends

  • Proven leadership skills to motivate and manage project teams

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally and effectively with cross functional groups, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
