Nova Scotia's busiest motor coach tour company is HIRING Red Seal or Journeyman mechanic/technicians for its Halifax operating location.

Accountabilities:
Ensure the Safety & Security of all team members, by following our Safety Management System (SMS)
Quality of work is completed according to company and regulatory standards (nothing leaves the shop until its safe)
Ability to work closely with and take directions from the General Foreman (GF) or Lead-hand
Follow the duty roster that works for all team members
Notify the GF immediately when finding major mechanical/safety issue
Ensure productivity level, meets or exceeds 90% billed vs. productive time
Diagnoses heavy-duty Motor Coach problems by visually inspecting, listening, road testing or using various diagnostic tools to determine repairs needed.
Effectively deal with emergency break-downs when coaches are away from home base. (remote diagnoses by telephone & computer)
Ability to direct and interact with the other technician’s in positive/professional manner.
Ensure that all Material Requisitions and Purchase Orders, adhere to company policy
Ensure your daily Work Order sheets are 100% accurate, before submitting to Service Writer
Continually upgrading trade skills and knowledge, through the company provided learning management system (LMS)
Project a well organized, proactive and positive approach in the work place (be a leader that the team looks up to)
Requirements:
Must be a positive team player
Must hold Red Seal or Journeymen Truck & Transport Certification
5 years’ experience as a motor coach mechanic / will consider training a highly skilled truck mechanic
Valid Class 2 Driver’s License air endorsement an asset (for road testing)
Ability to identified multiplex/electronic issues quickly, using computer diagnoses
Have own hand tools
Experience and/or training on new MCI J4500 is a great asset
Good HVAC/AC trouble shooting skills
Cummins recognized training certification/accreditation is a very big asset
Experience trouble shooting on late model Detroit Diesel, Cummins and Cat engines.
Excellent organization and communication skills
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends, if required (over time rates do apply)
Physically able to move around a lager shop and yard areas
Physically able to work in and under motor-coaches and other equipment
Self-starter and highly motivated to make proactive changes
Proactive, can-do attitude, with the ability to engage and mentor other team members.
Effective time management skills, able to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently and harmoniously within in a team environment
Perform routine maintenance services on motor coaches
