Halifax's biggest tour boat company is seeking a versatile experienced marine mechanic, with ability to maintain our marine fleet. The fleet consists of 7 tourism vessels, from 10 to 60 ton, including 5 amphibious vehicles (LARC’s)

Must be able to work with minimum supervision
Independent thinker with good trouble shooting and diagnostic skills.
Comfortable multi-tasking & able to react quickly to emergency breakdowns
Attention to detail with good reporting and record keeping skills
Experience with diesel fuel injection systems
Sound knowledge of hull-technology, including anode monitoring and change outs
Basic Hydraulic training or experience (an asset)
Sound engine-bay & marine driveline knowledge & experience
Verifiable marine experience. Industrial Trade Tickets/Journeymen Mechanic Ticket an asset
Understanding Inspection process criteria & regulations (an asset)
Must have a valid driver’s license.
Perform scheduled pre-trip visual maintenance inspections
Perform propellers and shafts pulls, changes seals, shaft bearings and stuffing boxes
Perform scheduled lube oil and filter changes, engines, transmissions & hydraulic systems etc
Maintain fuel quality standards including; filters, Fuel lines, injectors and fuel tank maintenance
Make minor electric repairs to wiring harnesses and gauge clusters
Ability to take/understand directions from Senior Marine Mechanic and execute work tasks as assigned
Ability to perform minor welding repairs (an asset)
