What you’ll be doing…

Under the direction of the Director, Libraries and Educational Technology, this college leader manages the operations of the educational technology unit. The Manager, Educational Technology has the overall accountability for leading the instructional design processes and the online learning component of the College by facilitating technology rich teaching and learning through collaborative curricular innovation, including technology enabled course design, faculty training/support and service reliability and consistency.

The Manager, Educational Technology is responsible for the service, processes and supports that enable online, blended and tech-enabled delivery at the college including the instructional design, application of interactive digital media, video production and communication technologies. The manager provides a full range of support to the Director, Libraries and Educational Technology in the integration of educational technologies that contribute to the advancement of teaching and learning.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (such as post-secondary education, educational technology, instructional technology).

Minimum experience:

  • Minimum five years of relevant occupational experience in leading the integration and adoption of educational technology in a post-secondary environment

  • Experience in learning management systems

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and forecast outcomes

Minimum skills and ability:

  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills

  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills

  • Strong leadership and team building skills

  • Strong demonstrated technical skills.

  • Innovative and a change leader.

  • Ability to research emerging trends

  • Fluency in the use and understanding of educational technologies and champions their use with students and faculty.

  • Knowledge of technology enabled course design and interactive digital media tools.

  • Proven negotiation, analytical and project management skills.

  • Demonstrated practice of promoting collaboration and collegiality.

  • Well-developed human resource management skills.
