NSCC - Director - Policy, Planning & Research
We are looking for a strategic leader to play a key role as we continue our evolution from an organization with a plan to a planning organization. Someone who brings clear focus and consistent process to setting College-wide priorities and measuring progress and performance. We need a natural leader and communicator who prefers to work collaboratively, and can inspire people at every level in this complex, distributed organization. You recognize NSCC is transforming Nova Scotia one learner at a time. You know that if you seize this opportunity and join us now, you can play an important role in helping shape the province’s future.
We are Nova Scotia Community College. Our mission is to “Build Nova Scotia’s economy and quality of life through education and innovation.” We offer 120 advanced skill programs in five academic schools, serving the whole province through a network of 13 campuses. Eighty-seven percent of our graduates are employed, most in their field of choice; 94% have chosen to live and work in Nova Scotia.
A Graduate degree in a related field is preferred or a combination of a Bachelor degree with extensive, directly related experience in organizational planning. An accreditation in planning, process facilitation, institutional project management or other related discipline would be considered an asset. You have ten years of relevant, progressive experience, preferably employing an iterative approach to planning within a complex, matrixed organization. You have recent experience in a senior leadership role. Your values and judgment are recognized and respected by other senior leaders. They admire your ability to move fluidly from complex ideas to practical solutions.
At NSCC, your energy will be felt. Your leadership will make a difference. And your horizons will be as limitless as the sea itself.
