FULL-TIME EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Fabricator / Installer Direct2U Blinds and Awnings JOB TITLE: Fabricator / Installer {NOC 7441 Residential and Commercial Installers and Servicers } REPORTS TO: Manager / Owner
POSITION SUMMARY The Fabricator / Installer is an important member of the Direct2U Blinds and Awnings team, as he or she assists with all aspects of developing and installing final products, ensuring the customer is happy throughout the process and in the final product, as it is representative of our brand and image for high quality workmanship. Therefore, he or she works in a clean, safe, and efficient manner at all times and to ensure project work is completed on time while meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
MAIN DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS: Warehouse (80%)
Transport raw materials and finished products throughout plant manually or using powered equipment
Cut and prepare blinds per specifications by customer using hand and power tools
Sort, pack, crate, and package materials and products to be delivered to job site
Clean work areas and equipment Delivery and Installation (20%)
Deliver finished product(s) to customer using half ton truck
Install various types and sizes of blinds in residential and commercial properties
Secure confirmation of work completed satisfactorily by customer and return paperwork to office Other Duties as Required (The x% denotes the amount of time that the Fabricator / Installer spends performing each duty during a typical shift)
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES The Fabricator / Installer must know: Basic math (to be able to complete measurements for fabricating product, as needed) Basic computer skills (to be able to use MS Excel and MS Word) The Fabricator / Installer should be able to: Communicate effectively and professionally with owner / manager, co-workers, as well as customers, other trades people / stakeholders encountered Maintain an organized work station that enhances productivity Work at a consistent productivity level with and without supervision Read manuals and directions to complete work accurately and efficiently Use basic hand and power tools needed to fabricate and install final product, safely and efficiently Adapt to different job site and circumstances Follow directions and be an effective team player Maintain adaptability and flexibility, as work often requires the need to re-prioritize tasks according to evolving and changing deadlines
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS High School or GED 0 to 3 years of experience Bondable Clean Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check Class 5 Driver’s License (to be able to get to and from warehouse and job sites) Steel toe boots Fabrication skills would be an asset WHMIS, Fall Arrest, and Aerial Work Platform training would be an asset

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Strength Requirements Must be able to lift loads up to and including 50 lbs Motion Parameters Required to feet for long periods of time
Work Environment Required to work in wide variety of environments, from dusty environments, such as new construction, to clean, existing homes / office environments Required to drive in all weather conditions
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION $14 to $15 per hour plus bonuses 90 day probation period Potential increase in hourly pay rate after probation period
