Part - Time Cashier

Café 98 is looking for a Part Time Cashier as soon as possible.

Chef/Owner is looking for someone that can work Monday to Friday from 11-2 for their lunch hour rush.

Please find the Cashier’s duties, requirements, skills, abilities and must haves involved in this role:

  • Primary responsibilities: Cashier handling and operations, taking food orders (Orders are paid for by customers at the cash till either before or after meal completion)

  • Replenishing items in the beverage cooler and coffee/tea thermos area as needed

  • Providing excellent quality customer service

  • Outstanding and clear communication skills

  • Maintaining a clean and tidy presentation of all areas

  • Cleaning off, wiping and replenishing tables

  • Taking the soiled dishes back to the kitchen area

  • Completing food orders as required: Placing required condiments and food items on wraps, sandwiches, salads

  • Serving water or other beverages as requested when orders placed

  • Serving food orders to tables once ready

  • Strong abilities to work in a fast paced environment

  • Able to stand for long periods of time

  • Need to be confident, self directed, able to multi-task well and takes initiative on their own

  • Other duties as required

Café 98 is located where “Our Thyme Café” used to be, just across the street from Scotiabank and TD in downtown Dartmouth.

Rate of pay: Minimum wage - $10.70/hour.

The Café has an excellent reputation and are well known for providing outstanding customer service, delicious and fresh ingredients and meals.
