FUND DEVELOPMENT FACILITATOR
Reporting to the Communications &Marketing Supervisor, working from the Halifax site, this position is responsible to plan, organize, promote, implement and evaluate activities and duties that comprise the MFRC’s fund development plan.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement annual fund development plan;
Meet or exceed annual fund raising goals as laid out by the organization;
Actively seek out new sponsors and corporate donors;
Research and support the writing of funding proposals
Research opportunities for funding through foundations and corporations;
Identify opportunities for MFRC exposure and or presence at special events and activities;
Prepare annual and fundraising budget including establishing milestones and financial targets;
Undertake any secondary tasks and responsibilities deemed necessary for the efficient operation of the Communications & Marketing Team, the organization, its programs and buildings;
Enhance professional expertise by membership in applicable professional organizations and participate in professional development related to assigned responsibilities;
Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers and community partners to meet our mission; and
Participate in developing new ideas and methods for program enhancement and ability to adapt to changes.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education or related experience in fundraising or event sales marketing;
5 years’ experience and a proven track record in fund development;
Member of an accredited professional fundraising association;
Superior knowledge of the non-profit sector and charitable giving;
Strong interpersonal, organizational, analytical and financial skills;
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast paced environment;
Demonstrated ability to work as a positive member of the team, facilitating a team environment;
Experience in coordinating and planning events;
Driver’s license and access to reliable transportation; and
Knowledge of the unique challenges of the military lifestyle and proficiency in French are considered an asset.

Salary: based upon an annual salary of $ 40, 000, Permanent, Full-time position.
