The Assistant Leader, SchoolsPlus shall be responsible for the implementation of a collaborative and integrated model of service delivery in an effort to identify and connect students and families to comprehensive services and supports. The Assistant Leader will work with the SchoolsPlus Leader to coordinate resources within the community and community agencies for students at risk, network and advocate for the SchoolsPlus Program, and support and monitor the progress of students served by the program. Consistent with Halifax Regional School Board and provincial policies, the Assistant SchoolsPlus Leader will work within an established accountability framework to ensure a high level of support and supervision is provided to the SchoolsPlus schools. Working collaboratively with Principals and other staff, the Assistant Leader reports directly to SchoolsPlus Leader and the Coordinator of Student Services.
Graduate degree in Social Work or Counselling;
Registration or eligible for registration with associated professional governing body;
Three (3) years experience in managing and monitoring complex caseloads and comprehensive assessments;
Three (3) years experience in developing, coordinating and evaluating complex service plans and facilitating interagency collaboration;
Willingness to be trained in non-violent crisis intervention and ability to apply techniques;
Valid driver’s license.
This is a PEG (Professional Employees Group) position with an annual salary range from $52,612 to $69,054 on the NCR 9 scale.
This is a permanent position, providing support outside of the school calendar year. Annual vacation entitlement is three weeks per year.
