The Adult and Community Program Facilitator is responsible for the development, delivery, co-ordination, facilitation and evaluation of adult and community programs.
Responsibilities
Create a welcoming, safe, non-judgmental, nurturing environment for adult, community and families;
Provide support to families as needed, i.e. walk-ins, telephone calls etc;
Keep informed of developments and trends in the community and to be alert to the changing needs of families; and
Act as an advocate in the community on behalf of military families.
Research new preventative programs/services that can enhance current practices;
Develop and facilitate affordable, accessible and inclusive programs for adults in all demographics that are based upon demonstrated need. (Adult Programs, Personal Development and Community Integration Activities);
· Co-ordinate and/or facilitate preventative workshops, events and groups that build on the strengths and capacities of military families;
Prepare and manage budget and funding submissions and be accountable for the budget and funding for adult and community programs;
Partner with community groups on projects and or initiatives that can benefit the H&R MFRC and the military community;
In partnership with other staff provide briefings, information to the CAF and information to other community agencies.
Qualifications
Possess a degree in community development, Adult Education, Family Studies or an equivalent combination of experience and training;
Five years minimum related experience in program development and implementation of adult and family oriented activities;
First Aid Certified;
Excellent knowledge of community resources;
Experience developing and delivering programs;
Superior group and workshop facilitation skills;
Excellent interpersonal and assessment skills;
Excellent communications skills, both written and oral;
Knowledge and practice of Microsoft computer applications;
Military service or experience with the unique challenges of the military family lifestyle essential;
Proficiency in French an asset; and
Must pass screening process of the Child Abuse Registry and a Criminal Records Check.
