Position profileThe Senior Supply Agent - IT will provide value-added vendor management and procurement services to our internal IT & Telecom customers. Working under the guidance of the Manager – IT – Delivery, this role will drive the procurement process and help to ensure that contracts are in place and up to CN standards and policies. As well, the Sr. Agent will ensure that all pricing agreements are adhered to and optimized to CN's benefit. The Sr. Agent will review data and trends to help identify opportunities for improvement from both a purchasing and asset management perspective. Responsibilities:

  • Support the Manager, IT Delivery for all activities associated with the entire procurement process for various IT products and services.

  • Manage requests by working closely with internal customers and external vendors from needs assessment, researching vendors, coordinating vendor presentations and negotiation, selection and recommendation for award of business, approval and finally to contract formulation and signature.

  • Negotiate contractual terms and conditions in collaboration with CN's Legal department.

  • Ensure contracts adhere to CN policies.

  • Work with suppliers to maintain master data and pricing agreements (i.e., contract renewals, terms, etc.)

  • Review and analyze historic trends and identify opportunities for improvement.

Education and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree (Accounting, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science)

  • 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience (e.g., procurement related to IT or an IT role)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Sound organizational and planning skills

  • Ability to handle deadline pressure

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office

  • Negotiating experience would be considered an asset

  • Experience with SAP would be considered an asset
