Position profileTransition Services is a new group within the Infrastructure and Telecommunications (I&T) organization. With over 350 employees and a vast array of technology there is a need to ensure that new functions and processes are well defined and implemented across the organization. The Manager position is an exciting opportunity to develop and build new teams while maturing existing areas. You will be responsible for the 5 direct reports and 43 employees (including consultants) and report to the I&T Senior Manager, Integration & Transition Services. Responsibilities:

  • People development and management

  • Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of mobile handheld devices, embedded chip wireless internet solutions, machine-to-Machine (M2M) Telemetry, Enterprise Server and IT user policies

  • Responsible for infrastructure and end-user hardware and software asset management strategy and lifecycle management

  • Establish the roadmap and future state of I&T to optimize asset utilization and develop services delivered by the transition services group

  • Identify saving opportunities and maintain Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)

  • Facilitates the development of policies to ensure that existing capacity is being used as efficiently as possible

  • Assists Supply Management in developing, negotiating and managing sourcing strategies, project proposals, tenders for equipment and service procurement (RFP, RFQ, RFI)

  • Ensures Managed Services and vendor commitment to contract, pricing, obligations and service level agreements

  • Works with application management teams to implement software configuration changes and management processes such as change controls and implementation plans

  • Responsible for the I&T Operational Dashboard which contains KPIs linked to departmental Critical Success Factors

  • Responsible for transition to core requirements, documentation and quality of delivery into production

  • Development and optimization of processes and services

Skill Set:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering or business administration or equivalent experience

  • 3 – 5 years' experience in a management position with direct reports and team leads

  • 5 – 10 years' experience with large enterprise contracts developing, negotiating and managing sourcing strategies, and service procurement

  • 3 – 5 years' experience with budget tracking, management and reporting

  • Experience in asset management including lifecycle management of IT assets (infrastructure and telecom)

  • 3 – 5 years' experience with process development, implementation, and optimization

  • 3 – 5 years' experience in developing, planning and executing roadmaps for IT-related areas

  • 3 – 5 years' experience in project planning, tracking and deployment activities (project management certification not required)

  • ITIL certification or courses in ITIL methodology (Methodology for IT Service Management)


  • Understanding of wireless and wireline technology management

  • Telecom wireless and wireline expense management
