Dartmouth Adult Services Centre (DASC) is a vocational day program for adults with intellectual disabilities whose mission is “To provide opportunities for adults with an intellectual disability and support them in realizing individual potential.” These individuals provide a range of quality products and services to businesses throughout the Halifax Region. On their behalf, we are seeking an energetic sales and marketing professional to join its team as Business Development Specialist.
Working under the direction of the Executive Director, you will assume responsibility for sales of DASC’s products and services, as well as manage all customer relations. Strong in planning, you will develop and execute detailed sales plans so that overall objectives are met. Utilizing your creativity, you will also market the abilities of DASC employees in new and resourceful ways. You will also work closely with the operations side of the business to ensure that production resources meet customer needs. Additionally, as a key player on the senior team, you will play an important role in the long-term business planning of the organization.
As the ideal candidate, you have proven sales and marketing experience and have successfully developed and managed strong client relationships over time. At ease interacting with people from all backgrounds, you possess strong interpersonal skills and are particularly skilled at inspiring and motivating others. You bring to this position energy, creativity and professional dynamism honed from your previous professional achievements, as well as an integrated approach to business development. Sensitivity to those with intellectual disabilities and an inclusive approach is a must for this role.
