Gliptone Auto Supplies Sales Representative Wanted Posting Date – March 16th, 2016 JOB TITLE: Sales Representative {NOC 6411 – Sales Rep - Wholesale Trade (Non-Technical)} REPORTS TO: Manager / Owner POSITION SUMMARY At Gliptone Auto Supplies we service automotive companies with detailing and advertising supplies in Atlantic Canada. Therefore, the role of Sales Representative is important because he or she plays an integral role in ensuring our customers receive the best customer experience possible, including communicating with our long-term, committed customer base. Further, as the main person in our warehouse he or she makes sure that everything is in a tidy manner with safety the main priority.

MAIN DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS: Sales and Service (60.0 %) - Promote sales to existing customers, starting with three existing sales routes - Identify and solicit potential new customers, including approaching car lots for work - Keep detailed notes on existing and new customer accounts - Maintain knowledge of products and advise customers on benefits accordingly - Pour samples of products safely into smaller containers to show potential customers - Follow-up customers to resolve problems, provide ongoing support, and build relationships - Ensure all paperwork, including purchase orders, are provided to the head office at end of the day Shipping, Receiving, and Delivery (20.0 %) - Unload deliveries from suppliers at the warehouse, sometimes handling in excess of 9,000 lbs of product in total in one working day - Sort, secure, and organize products and supplies, as per customer purchase orders - Load and safely secure customer orders into company’s ¾ ton van for delivery - Deliver products to customer locations in an orderly, safe, and timely manner - Ensure order is recorded correctly and proper signature on purchase order is secured upon delivery of products and supplies to customers - Maintain clean and tidy vehicle and warehouse environments Upholstery (20.0 %) - Perform hand stitching of fabric and leather - Perform mending of vinyl and leather - Mix colours by eye and air brush Other Duties as Required (The x% denotes the approximate amount of time spent performing each duty during a typical shift) REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES The Sales Representative must know: - Nova Scotia travel routes and regulations, especially Halifax Regional Municipality and one hour radius, to ensure products and supplies are delivered to customers in an orderly and timely manner - How to use tablet devices, such as I Pads, to document and email sales, as well as for daily planning - Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) The Sales Representative should be able to: - Communicate and interact with the manager / owner, coworkers, customers, and other individuals that may be encountered in a polite and professional manner - Proactively recognize customer needs, identify sales opportunities, and close sales - Organize and plan the most effective and efficient routes for delivery of products to customers - Use shipping and receiving equipment and tools to move products and supplies in an efficient and safe manner at all times

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - High School diploma (or GED) - 0 to 2 years experience in sales and account management - 0 to 2 years of experience in proper shipping and receiving procedures and techniques - Bondable / Clean Criminal Record - Valid Driver’s License (and comfortability driving a ¾ ton van) - Willingness to be trained in the craft of upholstery - Knowledge and / or background in the automotive detailing industry would be an asset

Organizational / Core Competencies - High energy, enthusiastic, and positive team player - Attention to detail oriented, organized, adaptable, and multitasking ability - Mature and polite, friendly, and professional with all stakeholders PHYSICAL DEMANDS Strength Requirements - Required to manually lift packages weighing upwards of 25 kg / 55 lb regularly, as well as sometimes handling in excess of 9,000 lbs of product in total in one working day Motion Parameters - Required to bend, crouch, and stand for upwards of one hour, including possibly on concrete floors Work Environment - Required to work from Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. - Required to work and travel using company’s ¾ ton van in all seasons and weather conditions - Required to work throughout Nova Scotia Visual and Hearing Requirements - Must possess good vision (with glasses, if necessary) to be able to mix colours, air brush, and complete fine detailed work
