JOB TITLE: Part-time House Cleaner {NOC 6661 – Light Duty Cleaners)
REPORTS TO: Supervisor
POSITION SUMMARY
The role of Part-time House Cleaner is important to Neat and Tidy Home Cleaners as he or she is the face of the company and interacting with clients on a daily basis. The Part-time House Cleaner is essential to the whole client experience.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Preparation and Travel (5.0 %)
Pick up other team members in Sackville for 7:00 to 7:30, when needed
Travel to various to various job sites throughout HRM
Cleaning (90.0 %)
Sweep, mop, wash, wax, and polish floors
Dust furniture and vacuum carpeting and area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture
Make beds, change sheets, and distribute clean towels and toiletries
Stock linen closet and supplies area
Clean, disinfect, and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances
Disinfect operating rooms and other hospital areas
Pick up debris and empty trash containers
Wash windows, walls, and ceilings
Report and store lost and found items
May provide basic information on facilities
Communications (5.0 %)
May handle complaints from time to time
Other Duties as Required

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
The Part-time House Cleaner must know:
The city of Halifax and surrounding area
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
The Part-time House Cleaner should be able to:
Perform all aspects of cleaning effectively and efficiently upon completion of training
Move beds and other furniture, as necessary
Multitask and take direction from his or her supervisor, as well as clients
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Must have house cleaning experience in a commercial environment, in other words experience in one’s own home is not enough experience
Bondable
Clean Criminal Record
Recent Driver’s Abstract
Non-slip indoor shoes, experience cleaning in the Bedford or Halifax South end area, and living in the Bedford-Sackville-Windsor Junction area would be considered assets

Must be able to lift loads up to and including 50 lbs
Motion Parameters
Required to bend, crouch, kneel, and walk for long periods of time while doing repetitive tasks
Work Environment
Required to work in in environments that may have pets, as well as required to work with chemicals, therefore, must possess no allergies to pets and chemicals
Required to work during the day Monday to Friday, as no night shifts or weekends
Required to travel from job site to job site so must have reliable vehicle
Additional notes
CAA is offered to all drivers
Payroll and mileage is paid every Thursday
