Our Opportunity: As a member of the Trades and Technology faculty team, you will deliver the shop component of the curriculum for all aspects of the Power Engineering Technology programs, including Pre-employment, Apprenticeship, Business Development, and Part-time Studies. You will participate in the evaluation of learning and provide feedback, in the development and electronic preparation of related course/program materials, in offering academic and career advisement, in facilitating work term placements and in providing leadership with respect to shop safety and development. You will be expected to liaise with industry and represent the College when required. You will also maintain currency with the latest industry practices. Your Credentials: • You possess a minimum 3rd Class Power Engineer Certificate of Qualification. • You have a minimum of five years of recent and related occupational experience (including supervisory experience). NOTE: Two years of your training will be counted towards the educational requirements and cannot be included as part of your occupational experience. • You have training/experience in the areas of WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety. • You have related computer skills, including MSWord, Excel, Internet and Email. • You are innovative and are committed to life-long learning and community involvement. • You are familiar with the concepts of portfolio education. • Your demonstrated ability to teach students with diverse backgrounds and knowledge, along with superb presentation, interpersonal and team building skills, make you an ideal candidate. • As a creative self-starter, you have been recognized for your high energy, your ability to work in a team environment and your commitment to excellence. Application deadline is midnight, September 24, 2015 NSCC’s Community College Education Diploma Program (CCEDP) is a two-year diploma that provides a foundation in adult education principles. To achieve regular status; all probationary, full or part-time Faculty and Professional Support employees of the College must successfully complete CCEDP within their probationary period. Term full-time Faculty who are employed for twelve or more months are also required to participate in CCEDP.
