What you’ll be doing…
As a member of the School of Applied Arts and New Media faculty team, you will provide instruction, support and evaluation within the two year Graphic & Print Production Program to students in the areas of Pre-Press, Digital Press, Wide Format, Signage, Printing and Bindery departments. In partnership with the Academic Chair, School of Applied Arts and New Media and lead program faculty, you will contribute to curriculum development and collaborate with other program faculty. You will also help organize student work practicums locally and maintain collaborative partnerships with the Printing community.

Minimum qualifications: • A relevant University Degree or Diploma in Communications or Print
Minimum experience: • A minimum of 5 years recent occupational experience that includes demonstrated success in the field of Pre Press, Wide format, and Bindery. • You have a production aptitude and a technical knowledge of troubleshooting digital file problems for output, bindery equipment, wide format printing, signage, color management, and workflows. • You have a strong working knowledge of lnDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, RIPs and imposition from a production perspective. • You have demonstrated abilities in print production planning, with experience in "Start to finish" print production methods • Knowledge of current issues and trends affecting the communications industry are essential.
Minimum skills and ability: • You are familiar with the concepts of Portfolio Education. You are innovative, committed to life-long learning and you demonstrate a commitment to community involvement. • You possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Your desire and enthusiasm to teach students with diverse backgrounds and knowledge, along with your superb presentation, interpersonal, and team building skills make you an ideal candidate. As a condition of employment, Faculty and Professional Support employees at NSCC must complete NSCC’s Community College Education Diploma Program (CCEDP). CCEDP is a two-year diploma that provides a foundation in adult education principles. CCEDP is a significant investment of NSCC in the learning and development of new employees. To achieve regular status; all probationary, full or part-time Faculty and Professional Support employees of the College must successfully complete CCEDP within their probationary period. Term full-time Faculty who are employed for twelve or more months are also required to participate in CCEDP.
