What you’ll be doing…

Reporting to the Manager of Customized Learning, you will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, co-ordination and evaluation of courses and programs.  Emphasis is placed on quality assurance and faculty training is a priority for this position.  You will work in close co-operation with various NSCC groups as well as external stakeholders, associated organizations and government departments.

You have:

Minimum qualifications:
• Minimum relevant Undergraduate Degree or Equivalent and a related Professional Certification/Designation

Minimum experience:
• Five years of relevant experience are required for this position in the area of developing, designing and supporting Internet-based courses and programs, or recognized equivalencies.
• Your occupational experience also includes a solid base using a diverse range of distance education tools along with knowledge of current courses and programs. 
• Experience with online learning environments such as Desire2Learn (BrightSpace) and BlackBoard Collaborate is essential.
• You have demonstrated knowledge of adult learning techniques and assessment strategies and experience with educational technology, specifically web-based instruction. 
• You are also proficient in MS Office and development software such as Articulate Storyline. 
• You are an excellent communicator, possess superb interpersonal and problem solving skills and have the ability to work effectively as a team member in a creative, innovative people-oriented organization.

As a condition of employment, Faculty and Professional Support employees at NSCC must complete NSCC’s Community College Education Diploma Program (CCEDP).  CCEDP is a two-year diploma that provides a foundation in adult education principles. CCEDP is a significant investment of NSCC in the learning and development of new employees. To achieve regular status; all probationary, full or part-time Faculty and Professional Support employees of the College must successfully complete CCEDP within their probationary period. Term full-time Faculty who are employed for twelve or more months are also required to participate in CCEDP.
