Job Description
DEPARTMENT: Housekeeping REPORTS TO: Executive Housekeeper
POSITION: Night Attendant
JOB SUMMARY: This job exists to provide cleaning service for all public areas between the hours of 3:30pm to 10:00pm.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
At least one year of experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:
Vacuum
Mop, bucket & rags
2 way radio
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to work shifts
Lifting- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force, pulling, pushing
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to prioritize work
Must be able to work without supervision
Must be able to make decisions based on guest use
Must be able to work quietly
Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying information.
Must be able to convey information
DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
Clean all public areas of Main hotel
Clean public washrooms of main hotel
Stock all public washrooms with supplies
Clean elevators (inside and out) including door tracks
Clean the tops of all pop machines
Clean The Spa
Clean Digby Hall
Do Turn Downs and answer guest requests
Restock cart at end of Shift
Other duties as assigned
Follow all Policies and Procedures in accordance with the Employee Handbook.
DUTIES
Sign in keys in housekeeping and get any additional information
Clean staff washrooms
Clean public washrooms
Remove all garbage form offices and clean
Sweep lobby floors (when there isn’t any traffic)
Clean the windows in the doors by the gift shop
Clean mirrors in lower lobby
Carpet sweep halls
Sweep exit stairwells, windows
Turn downs and deliveries upon request
Spa cleaning.

Sign out and leave keys at Front Desk
ROTATIONAL SCHEDULE FOR DIGBY HALL
MONDAY Clean windows and doors
TUESDAY Scrub washroom floors
WEDNESDAY Vacuum all floors
THURSDAY Wipe down walls in washrooms
FRIDAY Clean all window ledges
SATURDAY Wipe down all woodwork
SUNDAY Dust off all lights
These duties are to be done after regular duties.
TURN DOWN SERVICE
When announcing your presence “Turn Down Service” and knock (X3)
Remove any guest items from bed and place neatly aside
Pull back bedspread; fold sheet and blanket to form a point in the centre of the bed. Fold this point about 6” bring the bedspread up so that it is even with the top of the sheet and blanket. Place the pillows at the top of the bed, fluffed. Place the guest items neatly back on the bed
Remove and replace dirty glasses
Collect any food service dishes, set outside the door and take to the kitchen when finished with room
Empty and clean the trash can
Straighten any newspaper or magazines, return iron and ironing board if out
Remove dirty linen from the bathroom. Replace with fresh
Straighten and wipe down vanity area. Dry and polish fixtures and tub
Check toilet and facial supplies, replenish if necessary
Close the drapes
Turn on bedside lamps, turn off all other lights
Turn radio to AVR, low volume
Place chocolate on pillows
Visually scan the room to make sure that you did all things
Ensure that the door is locked behind you when you leave
REPORT OR CORRECT ANY SAFETY OR SECURITY DEFICIENCIES. THEY ARE TO BE CONSTANTLY ON THE ALERT FOR ANY UNSAFE OR UNSECURE AREAS, WHICH MAY THREATEN THE WELL BEING OF GUESTS OR COWORKERS OR THE MAINTENANCE AND SECURITY OF THE HOTEL PROPERTY AND REACT ACCORDINGLY.
