Position: F & B Porter

 

Job summary:  The main function of this position is tosupport F&B Servers, to set up banquets and meeting rooms and deliver Room Service according to established company standards.

 

Accountabilities:  The F& B Porter is responsible for the prompt, courteous and efficient service of food and beverage to guests rooms and function set ups.

 

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

 

Education & Experience: 

-High School diploma and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.

 

Tools & Equipment:

-Coffee urns, wine opener, Club car

Physical Requirements:

-Long hours sometimes required.

-Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of

  force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

-Able to lift trays of meals and dirty dishes.

 

Mental Requirements:

-Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.

-Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and

  accurately.

-Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.

-Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues

  raised by co-workers and guests.

 

Other Abilities, Skills, Knowledge:

-Knowledge of Banquet protocol and various services helpful.

DUTIES & FUNCTIONS

 

Essential:

-Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented

  manner in accordance with hotel standards.

-Maintain regular attendance in compliance with The Pines Resort standards, as required

  by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.

-Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing

  the proper business attire and nametag when working.

-Comply at all times with The Pines Resort standards and regulations to encourage safe

  and efficient hotel operations.

-Prepare room according to Banquet Event Order (coffee break, lunch, buffet, etc.).

-Set tables.

-Maintain buffets.

-Serve guest following rules of etiquette and property standards.

-Serve wine.

-Brew and serve coffee and tea.

-Clear tables of dirty dishes.

-Deliver dirty dishes to kitchen.

-Knowledge of hotel and Town facilities.

-To attend all training sessions and meetings.

-Liaison with supervisor regarding all special requests and/or complaints.

-Be a TEAM PLAYER.

-Maintain work ethics and be accountable.

 

Marginal:

-Deliver dirty linen to laundry.

-Clean banquet room following completion of function.

-Store props and equipment to assigned areas.

-Other duties as required.

THIS HOTEL FUNCTIONS 7 DAYS A WEEK, 24 HOURS A DAY.  ALL EMPLOYEES MUST REALIZE THAT WE SCHEDULE AS BUSINESS DICTATES.
