Term Full-Time Position: Commencing approximately February 22, 2018 and ending approximately December 31, 2018.

Salary range: $86,027.45 to $101,208.76 annually

What you’ll be doing…

The Manager, Accounting Services will interact with various levels of management providing guidance and advice for non-technical system issues and accounting inquiries on a daily basis. This position is accountable for quarter end procedures, various financial reporting, creating and updating accounting procedures, and participating in the year-end audit. As well, this position is responsible for managing accounts payable, general ledger, cashiering and involvement in the coordination of the college-wide mail delivery system. Directly responsible for coaching and supervising a staff complement of five.

Minimum qualifications:

  • University Degree in Accounting or Finance and a professional accounting designation

Minimum experience:

  • Minimum five years’ experience in finance or accounting, including year-end audit file preparation

  • Demonstrated experience managing and coaching staff is a very important aspect of the position

  • Specific areas of required experience include analytical skills, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills, and the ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines

  • Advanced proficiency with and understanding of Excel spreadsheets and PeopleSoft (or similar accounting software) including query and reporting tools.

Minimum skills and ability:

  • Ability to direct, influence and manage several functions simultaneously

  • Demonstrated practice of promoting collaboration and collegiality

  • Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing

  • Ability to establish respectful working relationships across all groups

  • Excellent communications planning skills and demonstrated expertise in innovative problem solving and strategic thinking

  • Ability to operate independently and exercise sound judgment

  • Effective planning and organizational ability
