Live Pink Youth Breast Health Coordinator October 1, 2015 – June 24, 2016

Breast Cancer Action Nova Scotia is a provincial non-profit organization of survivors and supports that focuses on the concerns and needs of those affected by breast cancer through support, education, networking, and advocacy. Visit www.bcans.ca. The Live Pink Teen Breast Health Program was developed in 2012 to teach breast health, healthy lifestyles, and risk reduction to teenage girls in schools across Nova Scotia. POSITION: Live Pink Youth Breast Health Coordinator (Full-time, temporary) This position is through the Nova Scotia Job Creation Partnership (JCP) Program. We are looking for a mature person who is approachable, self-motivated, adaptable, and resourceful with the following skills: - Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) - Experience working with the public and, in particular, youth - Comfortable making presentations to both small and large groups - Confidence searching the internet and communicating via telephone - Friendly and professional manners - Clear and accurate written and verbal communication skills - Excellent organizational skills - Ability to work independently and take initiative - Ability to maintain confidentiality - Must be resourceful with the ability to use good judgment and make decisions independently - Work well within a team environment - Access to a vehicle is an asset - Proficiency in French is an asset, although not required

Duties and Responsibilities include, and are not limited to: - Make contact with junior highs, high schools, and community groups - Send resource material to schools and community groups - Follow up with schools and community groups - Organize school and community group presentations - Facilitate presentations - Analyze evaluation data - Manage contact database - Manage project resource materials - Request donations and community support for the program - Attend events and expos that promote the program - Maintain Health Canada Research Ethic Guidelines - Write activity reports for BCANS
