ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY UNIT

Opportunity Place is pleased to announce the addition of an Assistive Technology Workstation for clients who need adaptations to more easily and effectively conduct job search activities.

  • An adjustable height computer workstation to allow for easier accessibility by a person in a wheelchair, or for those clients who may wish to stand while working on the computer.

  • An Ergonomic Operator Chair with an extra large contoured seat and back, height adjustable arms and independently adjustable seat and back.

  • An OBUS Forme Backrest support molds the spine into proper anatomical alignment. With a removable lumbar pad for additional back support that can be adjusted to fit individual needs and feature the added benefits and comfort of extended neck and head support.

  • Enhanced Visibility Internet Keyboard - The VisiKey® combines the visibility of large white on black print for increased visibility and contrast, with internet and media center functionality.

  • The BIGtrack mouse is a valuable tool for users who lack fine motor skills. The giant yellow ball makes it easy to get the cursor to precisely where you want it, allows you to settle the cursor in position and then click easily without moving the cursor inadvertently.

  • A Headset provides privacy for a client while hearing sounds from the computer.

  • Dragon Naturally Speaking - Just speak to the computer naturally-without pausing between words-and watch as sentences appear on the screen. Dictate entire paragraphs at a time. Compose e-mail messages, draft cover letters, prepare resumes and edit documents just by speaking.

  • ZoomText gives the user the total computer access solution. Friendly User Interface makes it easy to access and adjust all of ZoomText features using the mouse or the keyboard. Clients can see and hear what they're doing in all applications. ZoomText reads documents, web pages and email - right through the computer's speakers. With ZoomText, the computer is easier to see, hear, and use.
