Not all clients will receive employment counselling especially those who are self-sufficient in their job search and are job ready. The clients who will receive employment counselling are in transition, may face multiple barriers, and require additional assistance that they are unable to receive at Opportunity Place in acquiring job search tools, creation of a plan of action and on-going support to meet their goals. At Opportunity Place, clients will go through an orientation process and will self-identify the services they feel will be of benefit to them . The service provision team will review the self-referral and the client will participate in either a group intake or one-on-one intake session to determine if the client is in need of contracted employment counselling services. If the client requires employment counselling, a referral will be made to an outside agency to provide this service. The contracted career counselling service will conduct counselling assessments, assist in the development of Return to Work Action Plans, Return to School Action Plans and Self Employment Action Plans.
